Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Metallurgical Lab Technician to join our team in Nevada. The role supports metallurgical studies, maintains lab equipment, and ensures accurate sample processing and reporting in a fast-paced processing facility.

The candidate will work with LIMS, review testing protocols, and may use XRD, SEM, MLA and optical microscopy as needed. Strong safety awareness and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in metallurgical, laboratory and processing analyses preferred.
• Able to collect samples, process and report results accurately.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry in LIMS.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety practices.
• Strong organizational skills for high sample volumes.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech.
• Knowledge of chemical and laboratory testwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist metallurgical studies by executing sampling plans and analyzing samples.

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Metallurgical Lab Technician to join our team.

As part of the team, the successful candidate will be a team player adding to our already, diverse, yet rewarding working environment. The ideal candidate will possess a background in process mining and metals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Metallurgical studies by executing sampling plans, preparing, and analyzing samples
• Maintain laboratory and analytical equipment used in the process facility
• Stocking of laboratory supplies
• Assists in reviewing new or enhanced Metallurgical testing equipment or protocols
• Develops and maintains an understanding of applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, State and Federal regulations applicable to area of assignment
• Logs samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and processes results into spreadsheets.
• Performs other duties as required (XRD, SEM, MLA and optical microscopy possible)

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in Metallurgical, laboratory and processing analyses preferred
• Able to collect samples, process and accurately report on results required
• Working ability in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) required
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions required
• Strong organizational skills to manage high sample volumes efficiently - required
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards required
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing required
• Knowledge of the basic principles and methods used in chemical and laboratory testwork.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical information and instructions - required
