Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a dietary services team member to assist in food preparation and dishwashing, while maintaining a clean, sanitary work area in accordance with food safety regulations.

Under the daily leadership of the House of Mercy Chef and supervision of the Operations Data Manager, you will participate in preparing meals and supporting kitchen operations. This role requires English proficiency and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food as needed and assists in food preparation following daily instructions.
• Assists in serving evening meals.
• Assists in cleaning and sanitizing of food preparation area, equipment, utensils and tools.
• Performs scullery work including transferring tray carts, dishwashing, storing clean dishes, and cleaning the dish machine.
• Leaves the scullery pre-set for the next morning.
