Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant for Hanford Court Care Home in Hanford, Stoke on Trent. You will support food preparation and maintain kitchen hygiene to deliver high-quality meals and beverages to residents.

Applicants should hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate knowledge of health and safety, moving and handling techniques, fire safety and COSHH. DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrates high standards of personal hygiene.
• Have knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly moving and handling techniques, fire safety and COSHH assessments.
• Be an efficient worker, capable of a high level of sustained physical effort and able to respond to a demanding workload.
• Demonstrate initiative and display a positive and flexible aptitude to team working.
• Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards the residents.

Responsibilities

• Support the catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for safe production of beverages and meals.
• Ensure hygiene standards across kitchen operations and food handling.
• Assist with ordering replacement goods and monitoring supplies to ensure timely restocking.
• Respect residents and visitors, upholding dignity and individuality of each resident.
