Job summary

Endazhi-Nitaawiging Charter School is seeking a dependable substitute elementary teacher to support students in grades K–6. The role involves following lesson plans, delivering instruction, and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom.

The position runs Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with a daily pay rate of $240. Applicants must hold a Minnesota substitute teaching license or be eligible to obtain one and pass a background check. Ojibwe language knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Minnesota Department of Education substitute teaching license or be willing to obtain one.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Comfortable working with elementary students in grades K–6.
• Previous teaching, classroom, or child-care experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of the Ojibwe language is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher
• Deliver instruction and assist students with classroom assignments
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and well-managed classroom
• Follow school policies, procedures, and daily schedules
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators
• Provide notes for the regular teacher regarding the day’s activities, student progress, and any classroom concerns
