Job summary

Baptist Village Communities in Oklahoma City region is seeking a dietary/kitchen assistant to support dining services for residents. The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a compassionate approach to serving meals and maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area.

Responsibilities include food service tasks, following safety and infection-control procedures, attending trainings, and assisting with tray setup, beverage service, and basic equipment care.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to follow directions and perform simple repetitive tasks.
• Ability to communicate with residents, patients, visitors, families, peers, subordinates, supervisor, and outside contacts.

Responsibilities

• Follow oral and written directions.
• Set up trays & tables, serve trays to residents.
• Serve in the dining room.
• Clean trays and tables in the dining room.
• Pour and cover beverages.
• Assist in preparing and covering food.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Assist in the proper care and use of kitchen equipment.
• Attend in-service training programs for food service employees.
• Observe and follow infection control procedures related to the Dietary Department.
• Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
• Follow facility safety program.
• Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
• Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
• Assume accountability for data contained in the employees’ handbook.
• Lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Perform other related duties as directed by the Cook or Supervisor.
