Job summary

Shady Lawn is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in all dietary functions, support meals preparation, and ensure timely service to residents.

You will work with the dietary manager and dietitian, follow policies, maintain sanitation, and help with meal trays and inventory. The role requires basic education, ability to read/write English, and a compassionate demeanor for elderly residents.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least a tenth grade education.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• On-the-job training provided; some experience in food service helpful.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must follow oral and written instructions and work with residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals that are tasty and appetizing in appearance.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
• Serve food according to established portion and control procedures.
• Work in various line functions as assigned.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties as assigned.
• Wash and clean utensils as directed.
• Assist in food preparation for special meals and events.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with fellow dietary personnel and other department associates.
• Follow safety, sanitation and infection control policies.
• Work with dietary manager and dietitian as needed.
