Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents
• Able to obtain during onboarding: TB certificate
• Onboarding includes: HCA number
• Onboarding includes: LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement
• Onboarding includes: LIC 501 Personnel Record
• Onboarding includes SOC 341A Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders
• Minimum of five hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s)
• Preferred: Current drivers’ license (if transporting clients or running errands)
• Preferred: Valid vehicle insurance coverage (required if using vehicle during shifts)

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care including bathing, dressing, ambulation
• Provide mouth care, dressing, exercising, and toileting/incontinence care
• Assist with nail care, positioning, and medication reminders
• Support meal planning and preparation, skin care, transferring, and coordinating with clients’ routines

Job Description Summary

Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.

Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents

Able to obtain during onboarding process:

• Cleared verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number
• Completed “Criminal Record Statement” (LIC 508)
• Complete “Personnel Record” (LIC 501)
• Complete “Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders” (SOC 341A)
• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s)

Preferred:

• Valid vehicle insurance coverage (required if using vehicle during shifts)
