Safe Harbor Home Care, a San Diego–based in-home care provider, is hiring Personal Care Attendants to support clients in home and community settings across San Diego. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, enabling clients to remain at home.

We offer weekly pay, flexible hours, and opportunities for career growth, with overtime available up to $31.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum age should be 18 years or older.
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents.
• Eligible to obtain: Home Care Aide Registry clearance, TB certificate, CA HCA number, and required LIC/SOC forms during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
• Support ambulation, transferring, and positioning to maintain safety.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor skin and mouth care.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation and light housekeeping as needed.
• Provide companionship and ensure care is delivered with safety and respect according to agency policies.

Job Description Summary

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.
• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents

Able to obtain during onboarding process:

• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number
• Completed “Criminal Record Statement” (LIC 508)
• Complete “Personnel Record” (LIC 501)
• Complete “Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders” (SOC 341A)
• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s)

Preferred:

• Current drivers’ license (if transporting clients or running errands)
• Valid vehicle insurance coverage (required if using vehicle during shifts)
