Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience required.
• Working experience in the retirement home industry preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and presentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills and teamwork.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and e-mail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all menu items are prepared and served according to policies and procedures.
• Assure that presentation adheres to established standards.
• Prepare meals per menus and nutritional plans.
• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and proper portions.
• Maintain food quality and safety through sanitation practices and proper storage.
• Assist with training of new employees.
• Arrive on time and perform other related duties as required.
