Job summary

Hanover Township in Cook County, Illinois, seeks a full-time Bus Driver for the Department of Aging Services to transport older adults (55+) and people with disabilities (18+) to medical and personal appointments.

The Dial-A-Bus has nine vehicles and operates Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, Saturdays 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, with occasional evenings. CDL with passenger endorsement and a DOT medical card are required; training from PACE within sixty days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL with passenger endorsement required.
• Must have a current DOT physical card and at least two years’ transportation experience.
• Pass DOT physical, background check, drug screen and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Transport older adults (55+) and people with disabilities (18+) to medical and personal appointments.
• Operate route using dispatch tablet and maps.
• Complete training from PACE within sixty days of hire.
• Work schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday with some evenings/weekends as needed.
