The Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center (AALAC) seeks a talented, entrepreneurial Assistant Director focused on the Caribbean to drive the Center’s growing regional portfolio. Based in Washington, DC, the role emphasizes shaping Caribbean programming, managing the Dominican Republic–US Task Force, and expanding ports and infrastructure work across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, international affairs, or international development.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Native-level Spanish and English writing and editing skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Shape and execute Caribbean strategy for the Center, focusing on English-speaking Caribbean and Dominican Republic.
• Manage and grow the Dominican Republic–US Task Force with agenda, stakeholders, and recommendations.
• Develop Port/infra work across LATAM/Caribbean emphasizing economic security and trade.
• Produce timely analysis and publications (briefs, memos, op-eds, talking points).
• Plan and run high-level convenings with speakers and participants, enable follow-up actions.
• Coordinate with Caribbean diplomatic corps, governments, donors, private sector, and multilateral partners.
