Job summary

Hub Group is seeking a Cargo Handler in Dover, DE to load and unload freight, accurately stage routes, and use handheld scanners to track shipments across the network.

The role requires lifting and moving freight, adhering to safety standards, and maintaining a clean work environment. Schedule is Monday–Saturday with 6:00am–2:30pm shifts and hourly pay of $17.26. Hub Group offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry freight safely.
• Frequent lifting and moving of freight is required.
• Accurate staging and auditing of next day routes.
• Willingness to work with appropriate equipment and scanners.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trucks and trailers.
• Safely use equipment to load/unload freight.
• Track freight using handheld scanners across the network.
• Stage and audit next day routes accurately.
• Label boxes and prepare freight for shipment as required.
• Verify documentation and freight condition meet quality standards.
• Check-in and unload freight.
• Recoup or restore damaged freight when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Cargo Handler is responsible for loading and unloading freight on trailers in a safe and timely manner. Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight is required. Must accurately stage and audit next day routes, perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Schedule: Monday-Saturday (5-day work week; Sunday and another day off TBD)

Shift: 6a-2:30p

Pay: $17.26/hr

Primary Duties

• Responsible for loading and unloading freight on trucks and trailers
• Safely load and unload trailers and trucks by utilizing appropriate approved equipment
• Use handheld scanners to efficiently track freight throughout our network
• Accurately stage and audit next day routes
• Correctly label boxes and prepare freight for shipment as required
• Verify documentation and condition of freight to assure quality standards are met
• Accurately check-in and unload freight
• Recoup/restore damaged freight when necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Ensure warehouse duties are being done as directed (cardboard, styrofoam, demanufacture etc)
• Ability to work well without direct supervision, maintain a positive, professional demeanor
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
