Job summary

Hub Group is seeking a Cargo Handler to load and unload freight on trailers in a safe, timely manner at our Columbia Township location. The role requires frequent lifting, manual handling, and accurate staging of next -day routes, using approved equipment and handheld scanners to track shipments.

Typical schedule is Monday through Saturday, with Thursdays and Sundays off, and shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Compensation is $16.42 per hour, with benefits and career development opportunities

Qualifications

• Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight as part of daily duties.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced warehouse environment with attention to safety.
• Commitment to accurate handling and documentation of shipments.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from trucks and trailers.
• Safely load/unload using approved equipment.
• Use handheld scanners to track freight across the network.
• Accurately stage and audit next day routes.
• Label boxes and prepare freight for shipment per requirements.
• Verify documentation and condition of freight to meet quality standards.
• Check-in and unload freight and address any discrepancies.
• Recoup or restore damaged freight as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow site policies.

Job Description

The Cargo Handler is responsible for loading and unloading freight on trailers in a safe and timely manner. Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight is required. Must accurately stage and audit next day routes, perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Monday-Saturday (Off Thursday and Sunday)

Shift:

7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Pay:

$16.42/hr

Primary Duties

• Responsible for loading and unloading freight on trucks and trailers
• Safely load and unload trailers and trucks by utilizing appropriate approved equipment
• Use handheld scanners to efficiently track freight throughout our network
• Accurately stage and audit next day routes
• Correctly label boxes and prepare freight for shipment as required
• Verify documentation and condition of freight to assure quality standards are met
• Accurately check-in and unload freight
• Recoup/restore damaged freight when necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Ensure warehouse duties are being done as directed (cardboard, styrofoam, demanufacture etc)
• Ability to work well without direct supervision, maintain a positive, professional demeanor
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned
