Job summary

Lineage is seeking a claims specialist to address overages, shortages, and damages, researching root causes and communicating findings to management. The role ensures policy compliance, insurance coverage alignment, and regulatory adherence in handling cargo claims.

The candidate will collect evidence, maintain records, and work with logistics, partners, and customers to resolve disputes and identify corrective actions to reduce OS&D occurrences.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3 years perishable commodity OS&D/cargo claims experience or equivalent in customer service in transportation.
• Carmack Amendment knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Capture data related to potential claims of overages, shortages, and damages of customer products and unexpected fees.
• Collect evidence related to cargo handling for use in claim resolutions.
• Investigate product claims made by or on behalf of customers, shippers, and consignees.
• Maintain records of claims, documents, evidence, and dispositions.
• Coordinate with logistics, warehouse operations, business partners, and customers to provide timely information and determine dispositions.
• Take after-hours calls to assist with shipments and potential losses.
• Generate OS&D reports and data entry.
• Work with other departments to identify trends and mitigate future OS&Ds.
• Professional communication etiquette.
• Participate in proactive teamwork to meet department goals.

Job description

This position will address overage, shortage, and damage issues; research causes of OS&Ds; analyze root causes; determine resolutions; and communicate findings to management. Ensures organization policies are being followed in accordance with Lineage policy, insurance coverage, legislation, and regulations.

Essessential Duties And Responsibilities

• Capture data related to potential claims of overages, shortages, and damages of customer products and unexpected fees.
• Collect evidence related to the handling of cargo including documents, images, and verbal communication for use in the resolution of claims.
• Investigate product claims made by or on behalf of customers, shippers, and consignees.
• Maintain records of claims, associated documents, evidence, and dispositions.
• Work closely with logistics, warehouse operations, business partners, and customers to provide accurate timely information regarding freight overages, shortages, damages, etc. findings and determine appropriate dispositions.
• Take after-hours calls to assist operational groups, business partners, drivers and customers with issues related to product shipments and potential losses.
• Generate OS&D reports and data entry.
• Works with other departments to determine corrective measures to identify trends and mitigate future OS&Ds

Qualifications (knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3 years perishable commodity OSD/cargo claims experience or the equivalent length of time in customer service within the transportation industry.
• Carmack Amendment knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Certified Claims Processor (CCP) preferred.
• Proficient computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective time management skills and the ability to self-prioritize workload.
• Able to handle fast paced environment with attention to detail.
• A strong work ethic and team mentality

Work Schedule & Availability Requirements

This position is a second-shift role, with regular working hours from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM. In addition to the standard schedule, this role requires on-call availability one weekend per month, covering both Saturday and Sunday. Candidates must be able to accommodate these scheduling requirements.

ESRESPONSIBILITIE

Pay Range:$75,400.00 - $135,600.00
