Job summary

Prime, Inc. is looking for a self-motivated individual to join our Cargo Claims team in Springfield, MO. You will process cargo claims, take OS&D calls from drivers and customers, and coordinate disposition of refused freight.

Responsibilities include investigating claims, maintaining journals, processing payments, providing proof of delivery, and supporting general department duties. On-site attendance is required; day shift Tuesday through Saturday, with weekend and after-hours expectations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service skills over phone and in person.
• Able to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Typing speed around 40 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Take OS&D calls and reports from drivers and customers.
• Coordinate with customers to determine disposition of refused freight.
• Make arrangements to track, secure, and redeliver rejected freight.
• Investigate and review claims to determine carrier liability.
• Maintain claim journals and reporting requirements.
• Process claim payments and deliver charges.
• Provide proof of delivery and donation receipts to customers upon request.
• Assist the department with other general duties.
• Ability to work weekends and take after hour calls required.
• Day shift: Tuesday - Saturday.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Also need to be able to type 40wpm proficiently.

Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. On-site attendance is required.
