Job summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking a Claims Analyst in Houston, TX to manage end-to-end cargo claims across domestic and international operations. You will investigate, reserve, and coordinate with insurance and legal teams to drive timely settlements while protecting the company's interests.

You will work with operations, finance, and management to analyze risk trends, develop detailed reporting, and ensure accurate reserves, aiming for exceptional service and compliant claim handling.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant claims, risk management, insurance, or logistics experience.
• All Lines Adjuster License preferred or required, as applicable.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts and regulations.
• Strong written communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate cargo claims for accuracy, completeness, and contractual compliance.
• Utilize Excel and database analytics to support claims administration, reporting, and risk analysis.
• Establish and administer claim reserves in accordance with contracts and company guidelines.
• Investigate claims and maintain comprehensive documentation for settlement or declination.
• Prepare settlement authorizations and presentations for approval, and coordinate claim closure with management and/or insurance carriers.
• Partner with legal counsel and support litigation processes.
• Develop, analyze, and distribute detailed management reports and claim-related metrics.
• Work with Finance to ensure reserve accuracy and financial alignment.

As a Claims Analyst, you will manage the end-to-end cargo claims process across domestic, international, and contract logistics operations. You will investigate and evaluate claims, administer reserves, coordinate with insurance carriers and legal counsel, and support timely claim resolution.

Working closely with operations, finance, and management teams, you will provide expert guidance on claims handling, analyze risk trends, and develop reporting that drives informed business decisions. Your ability to balance analytical thinking, attention to detail, and stakeholder collaboration will be key to protecting the company's interests while delivering exceptional service.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

• Review and evaluate cargo claims for accuracy, completeness, and contractual compliance.
• Utilize Excel and database analytics to support claims administration, reporting, and risk analysis.
• Establish and administer claim reserves in accordance with applicable contracts and company guidelines.
• Investigate claims and maintain comprehensive documentation in preparation for settlement or declination.
• Prepare settlement authorizations and presentations for approval, and coordinate claim closure with management and/or insurance carriers.
• Partner with legal counsel and serve as a resource throughout the litigation process.
• Conduct research and support activities related to legal defense matters.
• Act as a liaison between the company and insurance carriers for significant or high-value claims.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and documentation related to large claim occurrences.
• Develop, analyze, and distribute detailed management reports and claim-related metrics.
• Work closely with the Finance team to ensure reserve accuracy and financial alignment.
• Provide guidance and support to station management regarding claims handling and best practices.
• Maintain effective communication with station and corporate leadership on significant or material claims exposures.
• Obtain and track ongoing status updates from claimants throughout the claims process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Minimum of two years of relevant claims, risk management, insurance, logistics, or related experience.
• All Lines Adjuster License preferred or required, as applicable.

Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer contracts, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
• Demonstrated technical expertise and industry knowledge related to claims administration and risk management.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and other web-based business applications.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, financial analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience creating spreadsheets, dashboards, and complex reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and at all levels of the organization.
• Skilled at handling sensitive, complex, or emotionally charged situations with professionalism and composure.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement, diplomacy, confidentiality, and discretion.
• Strong investigative and research skills with the ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical solutions.
• Effective negotiation and conflict-resolution skills with a proven ability to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
