Job summary

SingleLiving in Anchorage, AK is seeking a versatile cargo handler to support cargo and fleet operations, ensuring efficient service and compliance with safety standards.

You will process cargo, build outbound loads, manage manifests, and coordinate with CSA while assisting with aircraft cleaning and stocking. This role requires safety minded individuals comfortable with lifting and outdoor work.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated reliability with excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong computer skills with attention to accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and efficient service to all cargo customers.
  • Process cargo operations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Handle all cargo in accordance with proper procedures and safety standards.
  • Respond to cargorelated issues as needed.
  • Clean and organize the warehouse, including lifting and stacking cargo on pallets.
  • Build outbound loads for flights.
  • Coordinate with CSA personnel regarding highpriority items.
  • Prepare and process manifests for assigned flights.
  • Transport loads to the terminal or cargo aircraft using ground service equipment.
  • Report safety hazards, concerns, near misses, incidents, and accidents using the company’s safety reporting system.
  • Actively participate in Safety Management System (SMS) activities, including training, promotional activities, and safety initiatives.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with applicable regulations, company standards, and procedures.
  • Assist with general cleaning and stocking of aircraft as part of fleet responsibilities.
  • Operate a vacuum cleaner and clean interior surfaces of aircraft.
  • Stock aircraft with food, beverages, and seat pocket materials.
  • Lift and carry cases of food and beverages to aircraft.
  • Report deficiencies with ground support equipment.
  • Stop or delay unsafe operations when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Fleet Responsibilities:
  • Assist with general cleaning and stocking of company and corporate aircraft, including repetitive bending, stooping, and reaching to remove trash from under and around seats, overhead bins, and other aircraft areas.
  • Operate a 20lb vacuum cleaner throughout the aircraft cabin and clean interior surfaces by wiping and dusting.
  • Assist with stocking aircraft with food, beverages, and seat pocket materials.
  • Lift and carry cases of food and beverages weighing 2065 pounds from service trucks, up aircraft stairs, and into aircraft galley areas.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while maintaining accountability for the safety and security of ground handling operations.
  • Report deficiencies with ground support equipment.
  • Stop or delay unsafe operations when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, any day Monday through Sunday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Minimum of two years of experience, preferably in a related field.
  • Demonstrated reliability with excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a public environment with multiple employees and distractions.
  • Ability to consistently lift 2065 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to tolerate odors and chemicals associated with aircraft and ramp operations.
  • Strong computer skills with attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver up to 70 pounds; ability to lift up to 150 pounds with the use of forklifts and other equipment.
