Job summary

Menzies Aviation LATAM is seeking a Lead Cargo Agent in Philadelphia to supervise cargo staff and back up the Customer Service Supervisor. You will help maintain safe operations and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include assigning workloads, training staff, ensuring policy compliance, coordinating with other departments, and managing cargo inventory while upholding security standards.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess and maintain valid US driver's license.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing including drug testing and a physical.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Able to lift 35 lbs repetitively.
• Able to obtain and maintain required airport and badge seals.
• Flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
• One-year college certificate or technical school, six months related experience or equivalent combination.
• Certification in dangerous goods awareness/acceptance.
• Previous customer service experience in a lead role preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft products.

Role Purpose

As a Menzies Aviation Lead Cargo Agent, you will be under limited supervision providing day to day work direction to Cargo Agents and serve as a backup to the Customer Service Supervisor.

This role requires you to maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures

What You Will Be Doing

• Assigns employees to work specific jobs at front counter or airline account.
• Performs new employee introduction to work area, explains work rules, uniform policy, time clock process, office-terminal procedures and provides overview of department operations.
• Trains employees on specifics or assigns employees to work with an experienced representative.
• Ensures that employees are fully trained on company policies and procedures including telephone procedures, cash handling, security procedures and systems.
• Interfaces with other departments to ensure that service issues are addressed and corrected to ensure quality of service.
• Adheres to Menzies uniform guidelines and code of conduct.
• Inventory of freight to insure proper accounting of cargo.
• Must follow all Security procedures as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals

• Certification in dangerous good awareness/acceptance
• Previous customer service experience in a lead role preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft products
