Job summary

NYCHA is hiring two caretakers to support general services across multiple NYCHA-leased buildings in New York City. You will drive department vehicles, pick up supplies, inspect sites, and assist with repairs and emergency coverage.

There are no formal education or experience requirements. A valid driver's license with the ability to drive a manual transmission is required. NYCHA provides a comprehensive benefits package and encourages residents to apply.

• Provide emergency coverage in the event of power, water shutdowns.
• Assist with managing building services email address.
• Survey leased sites for repairs and overview contract repairs.
• Drive department vehicles to multiple NYCHA-leased buildings.
• Support the Building Services Technical Electrician with minor maintenance and janitorial repairs.
• Conduct Crack Unit surveys across multiple leased locations.
• Verify emergency calls and coordinate repairs with Building Services management.
• Conduct building inspections.
• Snow emergencies.
• Conference room set ups and take downs including NYCHA Events.
