Job summary

Senior Helpers Northern Orange County is seeking EXPERIENCED WEEKEND Caregivers ONLY to support clients in their homes with daily living activities, transfers, and companionship. Duties require safe body mechanics and use of assistive devices.

You will assist with mobility, personal care, meals, and activity reporting while engaging clients in conversations and hobbies. We offer flexible weekend schedules, growth opportunities, and a supportive team that values work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Experience transferring clients between locations using proper body mechanics.
• Gate belt assistance experience.
• Assist with personal hygiene tasks including bathing and grooming.
• Assist with incontinence and bed-ridden care as needed.
• Willingness to attend dementia/alzheimer’s training.
• 1 year experience preferred but not required.
• Reliable transportation and driver's license with insurance.

Responsibilities

• Have engaging conversations with clients to build relationships.
• Participate in clients' hobbies and activities (walking, games, gardening).
• Prep meals for clients to enjoy.
• Assist with walking, dressing, and daily activities of living.
• Report activities completed and updates on clients' condition and behavior.

Caregiver Qualifications

• Experience with transferring clients between various locations (wheelchair, bed, etc.) utilizing proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
• Experience with using a gate belt assistance.
• Experience with assisting clients with personal hygiene tasks including sponge baths, bathing, toileting, grooming, etc.
• Experience with assisting clients with incontinence care and bed-ridden care.
• Willing to attend training regarding Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
• 1 year of experience preferred, but not required.
• reliable transportation
• Driver's license & auto insurance

What does a day in the life of a caregiver look like? Providing a helping hand.

• Have fun and engaging conversations with your clients to build relationships.
• Participate in your clients’ favorite hobbies (walking, gardening, games, etc.)
• Prep meals for your clients to enjoy.
• Assist your clients with walking, dressing, and other daily activities of living.
• Report what activities were completed with your clients and provide updates on your clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior.
