Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Home and Community-Based Services Aide provides support, assistance with personal hygiene, and household functions for individuals to help them remain in their own homes.

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing (bed, tub, or shower), hair care (shampoo, combing, brushing), dental and mouth care (including denture care), nail care (filing only), skin care (peri care, lotion application), and transferring patients from bed to chair, wheelchair, bedpan, commode, or toilet.
• Report observations of the client's condition to the agency director or accounts manager.
• Drive safely, comply with traffic regulations, and wear a seat belt during business travel.
• Assist with household tasks essential to clients' personal care.

Education and Experience

Experience Desired

• Prior experience in home care preferred.

• Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet patient needs.
• Ability to function effectively in any home situation, regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
• Able to work independently.

State Specific Requirements

• TN: Successful completion of 75 hours of training, including 16 hours of clinical training, prior to or during the first three months of employment. Qualified to provide basic services such as simple procedures, personal care, nutritional assistance, ambulation, exercise, and household services essential to healthcare at home.
