Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Home and Community-Based Services Aide provides support, assistance with personal hygiene, and household functions for individuals to remain in their own homes.

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing (bed, tub, or shower), hair care (shampoo, combing, brushing), oral care (teeth, dentures), nail care (filing only), skin care (peri care, lotion), and transferring patients from bed to chair, wheelchair, or toilet.
• Report observations of the client's condition to the agency director or accounts manager.
• Drive safely, comply with traffic regulations, and wear a seat belt when required.
• Assist with household tasks essential to clients' personal care.

Education and Experience

• Prior experience in home care preferred.

State Specific Requirements

• TN: Successful completion of 75 hours of training, including 16 hours of clinical training, prior to or during the first three months of employment. Qualified to provide basic services, including simple procedures as an extension of therapy services, personal care, nutritional needs, ambulation, exercise, and household services essential to health care at home.
