Lutheran SeniorLife in New Castle, PA is seeking a Weekend Program Caregiver to assist participants with personal care and daily living activities, promoting independence in the home and community.

The role offers $17 per hour base pay with additional premium for weekend hours and a $6,000 sign-on bonus paid over the first year, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Local travel to client homes is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent training.
• Minimum 1 year experience caring for individuals with disabilities or similar needs.
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
• At least 1 year experience with caring for the frail or elderly.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with personal care activities and promote self-care.
• Support instrumental activities of daily living to increase independence.
• Follow rehab initiatives and clinical modalities as directed.

Caregiver Pay Rate starting at $17 per hour with an additional premium pay when working weekend hours.

Our services include LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly); skilled nursing, home health; personal care; adoption & foster care; assisted living; adult day services; memory care; hospice; palliative care; residential living; affordable housing; home safety monitoring; Meals on Wheels; rehabilitation services and private duty.

LIFE is a program that serves county residents living in Armstrong, Butler, Beaver and Lawrence Counties. It is an all-inclusive comprehensive program that helps individuals maintain their independence in their home and community through supportive services. The LIFE programs offer an array of person-centered services from medical care to adult day supports with the primary goal of allowing individuals to remain in their own home.

Responsible for assisting participants with all aspects of personal care activities and implementing strategies for promoting increased levels of self-care when possible. Responsible for assisting participants with Instrumental activities of daily living and implementing strategies for promoting increased levels of independence when possible. Responsible to reinforce and comply with all rehab initiatives and clinical modalities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Have a minimum of 1 year of experience providing care to an individual with a disability or support needs commensurate with the participants served in the waiver or related educational experience.


• Must have dependable transportation with a valid driver’s license in order to visit clients in their homes and other sites.


• At least one (1) year experience with the frail or elderly.
