Job summary

Right at Home of Southern Arizona is searching for an exceptional Caregiver to join our professional care team, helping veterans and older adults do the things they love so they can live the way they want to live.

Qualifications

• Compassion and concern for veterans and older adults.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and have your own insured automobile.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming and dressing.
• Supports ambulation and transfers as needed.
• Prepares meals and snacks.
• Reminds about medications and assists with ROM exercises.
• Accompanies clients to errands or medical appointments.
• Performs light housekeeping.
• Follows care plans provided by a Care Manager or Nurse.
• Supports dementia care and incontinence care.

Caregiver Responsibilities and Duties

Performs personal care activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living (ADL's):

• Personal hygiene (assisting to bathroom or in using a bedpan, bathing, care of mouth, shaving, skin, and hair)
• Ambulation/Transfers
• Eating
• Dressing/Grooming
• Prepares meals and snacks
• Accompany clients on errands or medical appointments.
• Light Housekeeping

Performs client-specific activities that are taught by a Right at Home Care Manager or Nurse:

• Medication reminders
• Assisting with the prescribed range of motion exercises
• Measuring and preparing special diets
• Understanding dementia care
• Incontinence care

Caregiver Qualifications and Skills:
