Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC d/b/a Avamere Living seeks a Caregiver for On-Call, Part-Time/PRN roles at Avamere at Chestnut Lane in Gresham, OR. Shifts include all times with weekend availability required, wage $22.28–$29.07 per hour, DOE.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, mobility, meals, emotional support, and safety. Deaf/DeafBlind community; ASL proficiency or willingness to learn preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Caregiver in memory care or Assisted Living preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required during employment.
• Food Handler's Card required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs including bathing, grooming, toileting.
• Support mobility and transfers for residents.
• Prepare meals and clear trays.
• Provide emotional support and companionship.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety in resident rooms.
• Monitor health and report concerns; assist with medical advocacy.

• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
