Job summary

The Abide, a small residential assisted living in Union County, seeks compassionate and reliable caregivers to join the team. You will assist residents with daily living activities, provide companionship, and support a person-centered care approach in a home-like setting.

Full-time, part-time, and PRN positions are available. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a high school diploma and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift; up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance or devices.
• Current CPR certification.
• Compassionate, patient and reliable personality.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• NC CNA and Medication Aide certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, mobility, meals).
• Provide companionship and social engagement to residents.
• Maintain accurate records of resident care and communicate with families and team.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and care policies; assist with light housekeeping.
• Observe changes in residents and report to the team promptly.

The Abide is seeking compassionate and reliable caregivers to join our team and provide high-quality care to our residents. Caregivers will be responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation, as well as providing companionship and support. Successful candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure each resident receives attentive, person-centered care. Full, part-time, and PRN positions are available.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including mobility, bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
• Provide companionship and support to clients, including engaging in activities and conversation
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client care
• Communicate effectively with clients and their families, as well as other team members and management
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures
• Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying resident rooms, and maintaining common areas
• Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or cognitive condition
• Foster a caring, respectful environment that upholds each resident's dignity and individuality
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance or mechanical devices.
• Current CPR certification
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable personality
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Current CNA certification on the NC registry
• NC Medication Aide certification for Adult Care Homes
• Previous experience working with older adults or individuals living with dementia (including home health, assisted living, or other long term care experience)
