Job summary

Wallick Communities is seeking a Personal Care Assistant / Caregiver at Oakleaf Village Columbus, 5500 Karl Road, Columbus, OH. This full-time 3pm-11pm role offers $16/hour plus shift differential and a supportive, employee-owned culture.

You’ll provide direct resident care, assist with activities of daily living, and help residents thrive in a compassionate, respectful environment. Previous experience in assisted living is a plus; CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Nurse Aide Certification is a plus but not required.
• Effective communication with residents and team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care and daily assistance to residents.
• Assist with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Respond to call lights promptly and address resident/family needs.
• Encourage resident participation in activities and events.
• Assist residents to and from activities, dining, and other community functions.
• Lift, turn, and reposition residents as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

Our exceptional PCAs provide direct resident care and strive to give our residents worth and meaning by helping them thrive mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially as they choose. You will work as part of a team that ensures the residents have a comfortable and safe place to call Home.

• Provide exceptional personal service and daily care to residents.
• Provides physical resident care to include all aspects of personal hygiene and grooming to include bathing and toileting.
• Answers call lights in a timely manner and respond accordingly to the resident’s and / or family needs.
• Motivates and encourages resident involvement in the participation in activities.
• Assists residents to and from activities, dining room, and other functions within the community.
• Lifting, turning, and re-positioning residents as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• Organized and self-motivated to do a great job for our residents
• CPR Certified. Nurse Aide Certification is a plus but not required.
• Effective communication skills to interact with co-workers, residents, family members and peers.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions
• Previous experience working in an Assisted Living or Memory Care Community is a plus
