Job summary

The Auberge at Onion Creek in Austin, TX is seeking a Caring Caregiver to assist residents with daily life, including personal care, meals, housekeeping, laundry and activities. You will be part of the Health & Wellness Team delivering compassionate support.

This part-time, non-exempt position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, ability to read and write, basic English, and experience with elderly residents; dementia experience preferred. Certification is required by state regulations.

Qualifications

• Skills: Basic reading and writing, and ability to speak English.
• Years of Experience: Knowledge and experience in working with elderly; dementia experience preferred.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Skills: Basic reading and writing skills, and ability to speak English in an understandable manner
Years of Experience: Knowledge and experience in working with elderly & previous dementia experience preferred
Certification: Certification required according to state regulations

Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods; Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis; Full use of hands, arms, and legs (for washing, bathing, dressing, writing, cleaning); Ability to read thermometers, charts and testing equipment and ability to operate clothes washers and dryers and kitchen appliances
