Always Best Care Senior Services in Connecticut is seeking an experienced Dementia Caregiver for a part-time evening shift (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM). This role suits an HHA, CNA or PCA looking to add meaningful hours to their week.

Starting pay is $19/hour with a consistent schedule, paid training, mileage reimbursement, and a supportive local office team. The caregiver will provide companionship, gentle redirection and assist with ADLs for a client living with dementia.

Qualifications

• Extensive dementia care experience required.
• Experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA), CNA or PCA preferred.
• Patient, warm, and dependable with ability to engage with the client.
• Ability to assist with ADLs and maintain a calm home environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide dementia care and companionship during evening shifts.
• Offer redirection, reassurance, and meaningful engagement.
• Assist with personal care as needed.
• Maintain safety and a calm, respectful home setting.
• Document care activities as required.

We’re Looking for Someone Special

We’re looking for an experienced caregiver to spend a few meaningful hours each week with a lovely woman who is navigating the challenges of dementia and benefits from a calm, reassuring presence.

She needs someone who will take the time to connect with her—not simply complete a list of tasks. The right caregiver will understand how important patience, conversation, reassurance and meaningful engagement can be in helping someone living with dementia feel comfortable, secure and valued in her own home.

Extensive dementia care experience is required.

You’ll use your experience to:

• Provide gentle redirection and reassurance
• Engage her in meaningful conversation and activities
• Recognize and respond compassionately to dementia-related behaviors
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Maintain a calm, positive environment
• Assist with personal care and ADLs as needed
• Help her feel safe, respected and comfortable in her own home
