Job summary

Altra Homecare Group in the United States is seeking compassionate Personal Care Assistants to provide in-home care tailored to each patient’s needs.

The PCA will assist with daily living activities, monitor health, remind about medications, help with meals, transport, and documentation, while following privacy and infection-control policies. Candidates should be at least 18, have a valid driver`s license and auto insurance, CPR, and at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance.
• Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care provided.
• Current CPR certification.
• Comply with training requirements as per State and Federal laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient laundry when necessary.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Ensure patient safety.
• Report significant changes in the patient's condition directly to their supervisor.
• Prepare light meals and assist with patient feeding when required.
• Monitor and record patient temperature.
• Assist patients with ambulation.
• Conduct range of motion exercises and other simple physical activities.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and adhere to care protocols.
• Follow privacy policies and infection control guidelines.
• Offer bathing assistance.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Provide companion services, including letter-writing and reading.
