Objective:

Caregivers can work independently in client homes or for a healthcare facility providing personal care to patients. They typically travel to a client's home and help them perform basic domestic tasks like cleaning and activities of daily living such as bathing and providing them with companionship and emotional support.

Job Description:

  • Provide clients with companionship, socialization, and mental stimulation
  • Transport clients to and from appointments, errands, activities, etc.
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene
  • Assistance with transfers & ambulation
  • Provide medication reminders
  • Prepareand cook meals

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with dementia care;Alzheimer's;Parkinson's
  • Empathy and the ability to care for the client’s social, emotional, physical, and mental needs
  • Ability to respond to an emergency situation.
  • Physical ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to carry, lift or pullup to 50 pounds, while avoiding injury from transferring, repositioning, or lifting patients.
  • Ability to occasionally push/pull objects up to 50 pounds and to bend/kneel to complete activities.
  • Physical strength and stamina.
