Job summary

Interim HealthCare is seeking a Home Care Aide/Caregiver in California to help seniors live safely at home. You’ll assist with daily living activities, accompany clients to meals and appointments, and provide companionship in a compassionate, respectful manner.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, active CA HCA registration, CPR, Covid-19 vaccination, and a valid CA driver’s license with reliable transport. Pay ranges from $19 to $22 per hour with flexible weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to seniors to live safely at home.
• Assist with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, light housekeeping.
• Assist with ambulation, transferring and ROM exercises.
• Provide medication reminders and document client condition for supervisor.
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways.
• Engage clients in activities that bring joy, like puzzles and reading.

As a Home Care Aide/Caregiver, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
• Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies

A few must-haves for Home Care Aides/Caregivers:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and active Home Care Aide (HCA) registration in CA
• Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
• CPR certification
• Covid-19 vaccination card
• Valid CA driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation
• Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
