Job summary

Interim HealthCare seeks Home Care Aides/Caregivers to assist seniors at home with daily living activities, companionship, and health monitoring. You will perform bathing, grooming, meal prep, light housekeeping, and transportation assistance in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

The role emphasizes compassion, clear communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. A CA HCA registration, CPR certification, and a valid CA driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
• CPR certification required.
• Covid-19 vaccination card required.
• Valid CA driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to seniors living at home.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, meal prep).
• Assist with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises.
• Provide medication reminders and report concerns to a supervisor.
• Help maintain a safe, clean home environment and engage clients in activities.

As a Home Care Aide/Caregiver, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
• Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies

A few must-haves for Home Care Aides/Caregivers:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and active Home Care Aide (HCA) registration in CA
• Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
• CPR certification
• Covid-19 vaccination card
• Valid CA driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation
• Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
