Job summary

Assisting Hands Home Care is seeking caring caregivers to support clients in their homes across Norfolk and Suffolk Counties and surrounding areas. You will assist with daily activities, meals, mobility, and provide companionship, while following care plans and maintaining safety and dignity for clients.

Applicants may have CNA/HHA certification or caregiving experience; English proficiency is required, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation helps.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English required for clear communication.
• CNA or HHA certification or caregiving experience preferred.
• Nursing students seeking patient care experience welcome.
• Experience in home care is a plus but not required; kindness matters.
• Strong communication and a caring, empathetic approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily activities to maintain dignity and comfort.
• Support mobility, transfers, light exercise or walking.
• Prepare and serve meals that are tasty and healthy.
• Provide medication reminders and follow care plans.
• Offer companionship and engage clients in activities.
• Show enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, and reliability.
• Maintain a clean, safe home environment for clients.
• Occasional transportation to appointments with mileage reimbursement.
• Demonstrate dedication and respect for the team and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming; your support helps our clients maintain dignity and comfort
• Assist with Mobility, Transfers, Light Exercise or Walking
• Prepare and serve meals so clients have tasty and healthy food
• Medication reminders are crucial to our client’s health, we will train you
• Provide companionship, engage in fun activities and be the friendly face and joyful presence that makes every day a little brighter
• Show enthusiasm for helping others, eagerness to learn, and motivation to provide excellent care
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in clients' homes
• Occasional Transportation of your client to appointments or errands, we reimburse your miles
• Demonstrate dedication to our clients and respect for our agency’s close knit team

Requirements

• Proficiency in English
• Current CNA or HHA certification or caregiving experience
• Nursing students seeking patient care experience
• Previous experience in home care or a similar setting is a plus but not necessary; what matters most is your kindness and eagerness to make a difference
• Strong communication skills and a caring nature because a warm, empathetic approach is at the heart of what we do
• Ability to follow a care plan and provide compassionate, patient-centered care
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
