Job summary

HomeWell Care Services of NWI is seeking compassionate caregivers to join our team, providing non-medical, in-home care to seniors who wish to age in place.

We offer flexible scheduling, full- or part-time options, and training with opportunities for advancement. No healthcare certification required, but CNA/HHA or related experience is preferred; a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are also important.

Qualifications

• No healthcare certification required; CNA/HHA preferred.
• Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus.
• Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone.
• Pass a criminal background check (national and state).
• Proof of current, negative TB test.
• Must be physically able to perform duties, including lifting ~25 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; proof of license and insurance.
• Ability to travel 15 miles for scheduled shifts.
• Compassionate heart for older adults.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Mature, caring, punctual and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Social companionship
• Support with daily living tasks (feeding, reminders, bathing/dressing, hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, laundry, cooking)

RESPONSIBILITIES

With dignity, compassion, and care, your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Social companionship


• Support with a variety of daily living tasks such as feeding and medication reminders, bathing/dressing and personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, light cleaning, laundry and cooking/meal preparation


• Transportation to appointments, errands and social outings


• Standby assistance with transfers


• Overnight safety assistance

QUALIFICATIONS

• No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred


• Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus


• Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone


• Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by the state)


• Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test


• Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.


• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance


• Ability to travel 15 miles for any scheduled shifts


• A compassionate heart for older adults


• Must possess excellent communication skills
