Job summary

HomeWell Care Services of NWI is seeking compassionate CAREGivers to support seniors in their own homes on a full- or part-time basis. You will work one-on-one with clients, providing companionship and a range of non-medical services to help seniors age in place with empathy and integrity.

No healthcare certification is required, but CNA/HHA or 6+ months in geriatric care is preferred. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are needed; ability to travel up to 15 miles for shifts is

Qualifications

• No healthcare certification required; CNA/HHA or 6 months plus care for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred.
• Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus.
• Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone.
• Pass a criminal background check (national and state requirements).
• Proof of current, negative TB test.
• Must be physically able to perform duties including lifting ~25lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; travel up to 15 miles for shifts.

Responsibilities

• Social companionship.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as feeding, reminders, bathing, dressing, hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Provide transportation to appointments, errands and social outings.
• Standby assistance with transfers.
• Overnight safety assistance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
• Ability to travel 15 miles for any scheduled shifts
• A compassionate heart for older adults
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Are mature, caring, punctual and reliable
