Job Details

Schedule: Full Time, Saturday - Wednesday (6:00am - 2:00pm)

Pay: $18-$19/hr

Responsibilities

The identified duties and responsibilities are representative of the basic functions, general nature and level of work for the position. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of duties required. The Caregiver is responsible for assisting residents in daily living activities and for maintaining resident dignity and safety, in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines.

• Respond to resident needs promptly and kindly while maintaining each resident’s self-respect, personal dignity, safety, and confidentiality (50%)
• Read and follow care plans to ensure proper care is given (10%)
• Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, activities, and continence needs (including assisting with bathrooms and products) (20%)
• Assist at mealtime with selecting meals, serving, eating, clearing, and delivering room trays as needed (3%)
• Transport residents as necessary, following safety and transferring techniques, including escorting to meals and activities (3%)
• Perform regular safety checks on residents (1%)
• Encourage participation in daily activities such as bed making, laundry, cleaning, and setting tables (1%)
• Invite and assist residents in meaningful and life-enriching activities (3%)
• Perform laundry and assist with other community activities as required (1%)
• Manage oxygen tanks and concentrators per MD orders as needed (1%)
• Chart and document information, including incident reports, and communicate changes to a supervisor (4%)
• Respond promptly to resident alerts and emergencies, carrying walkie-talkies as needed (3%)
• Ensure resident safety and comfort and assist in safety drills (1%)

Non-Essential Job Duties

• Display a positive and professional image in accord with MBK core values
• Encourage teamwork and open communication with coworkers and other departments
• Demonstrate effective time management to complete assignments daily per shift
• Maintain tact and friendliness with residents, families, and guests
• Adhere to MBK policies regarding meal breaks and rest periods
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements

• Age 18 or over, or have proper work permit and authorization
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Nurses Aid certification preferred
• Current first aid certification
• Background clearances as required by government regulations
• Health screening and negative TB test within the last 6 months or 7 days of employment
• Prior caregiving experience preferred; on-the-job training available
• Must be able to read and speak English
• Ability to follow oral and written directions
• Ability to interact effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds
• Must meet and maintain all state regulatory requirements

Physical Demands

• Must be mobile and able to perform physical tasks, including kneeling, squatting, overhead reaching, and bending
• Must be able to lift 40+ pounds and push 150 pounds unassisted
