Opportunities Unlimited LLC is hiring a Caregiver/DSP for at-home and community services in the Portland area. The role offers flexible full-time or part-time schedules to promote client independence and well-being in the home and community setting.

Duties include companionship, meal planning, scheduling reminders, transportation to appointments, and helping clients access community resources. A compassionate approach and reliable transportation are valued assets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in caregiving or home support is preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
• Ability to perform light household tasks and provide emotional support.
• DSP-specific certifications may be required within a set period after hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation and activities.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation.
• Support scheduling and reminders for appointments, medications, and daily routines.
• Transport clients to medical appointments, errands, or social outings as needed.
• Encourage participation in community events, recreational activities, and social groups.
• Help clients access community resources and services (libraries, clubs, volunteering).
• Monitor changes in health and report to family or healthcare professionals.
• Maintain records of care provided and daily activities.
• Advocate for clients’ needs and support their independence.
• Implement care or behavior plans and track progress toward goals.

Employment Type: Full-time and part-time available, Flexible schedule

Pay Range: $18–$20/hour for candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience; $20–$22/hour for candidates with 3+ years of relevant experience. Pay is distributed monthly.

Position Summary

A Caregiver/Direct Support Professional (DSP) in at-home and community services provides essential support to individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living, companionship, household management, and community engagement. The role is designed to promote independence, safety, and well-being in the comfort of the client’s home, while also facilitating participation in community activities and social networks. This position does not include hands-on physical care such as lifting or bathing.
