Job summary

Village Caregiving - Cleveland, OH is seeking a compassionate in-home caregiver to support clients with daily living activities, mobility, and personal care. You will help with medication reminders, transportation to appointments, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.

The role requires excellent communication, reliable time management, physical endurance, and a current American Heart Association CPR certification.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication and reminders if needed.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility around the home or during outings.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Support with physical therapy activities and prescribed exercises.
• Run errands or accompany clients to appointments.
• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping as needed.
• Collect relevant health information from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members.
• Report any unusual incidents to the care team and family members.
• Act quickly and safely in emergencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises
• Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own, including preparing meals
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required
• Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance to complete required tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent
