Job summary

VillageCaregiving seeks a compassionate caregiver/CNA to join our growing team in Illinois. The ideal candidate provides personal hygiene, mobility support, and companionship to clients, with a can-do attitude and a friendly demeanor.

You will assist with meals, medications, and household tasks, work flexible shifts including nights and weekends, and report any incidents promptly. A High School diploma or CNA/HHA training is required, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable

Qualifications

• One-on-one care experience and willingness to learn new skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Available to work nights and/or weekends.
• Healthcare or in-home care experience (1 year) preferred.
• Strong compassion and supportive attitude.
• High School Diploma or CNA/HHA training completed.
• Hoyer Lift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance and daily living support.
• Assist with medications and ambulation.
• Support mobility around the home and accompany appointments.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Assist with physical therapy exercises.
• Run errands and complete shopping tasks.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Report incidents and respond to emergencies.
• Engage clients in daily activities and meals service.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Plan and prepare meals
• Assist with physical therapy exercises
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
• Supportive and compassionate
• High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
• Take pride in providing high quality care;
• Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
