Job summary

Episcopal Communities & Services for Seniors is seeking caregivers for The Covington in California. Earn $22.00 per hour with potential shift differential bonuses and a competitive benefits package.

You will assist residents with daily living activities, transport them to meals and activities, and observe changes in health while documenting in EMR. Flexible schedules include part-time and full-time roles with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school education preferred or up to six months related experience.
• First Aid Certification required.
• Basic computer skills with EMR/charting experience required.
• Able to walk for multiple hours per shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living per care plan.
• Transport or escort residents to meals, activities, and appointments.
• Observe residents and report changes to supervisor and nurse; document in EMR.

Eligible for Shift Differentials: additional pay premiums to compensate employees for working hours and shifts other than regular day shifts.

Here’s how it works:

• 3% for evening shifts
• 5% for NOC shifts
• 7% for weekend shifts
• Differentials can be used in combination with others, for example…
• 10% for weekend evening shift
• 12% for weekend NOC shift

What Makes This Position Special?

Responsible for providing directassistanceand careto assigned residentsunder the supervision of the DirectorofResidential Health Services or Independent Living Managerandshift charge nurse.

What You’ll Do:

• Promotes independence while assisting residents with activities of daily living including but not limited to personal hygiene, dressing, ambulation, and meal service in accordance with the care plan.
• Encourages socialization and physical activity by transporting or escorting residents to meals, activities, appointments, and outings as required.
• Observes resident regularly and reports any change in the condition to supervisor and nurse on duty. Records changes and observations in electronic medical record system.

The Skills You’ll Need:

• High school education preferred, or up to six months related experience and/or training.
• Must have First Aid Certification.
• Basic computer skills with experience using electronic medical records/charting required.
• Must be willing and able to walk for multiple hours per shift with ease.
