Job summary

Generations Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Caregiver for a full-time PM shift in California. You will assist licensed staff in patient care, support CNAs, and perform routine tasks to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for residents.

Responsibilities include helping residents with activities, keeping rooms tidy, and ensuring equipment and supplies are well-managed. A High School diploma and successful background check are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening required as part of the hiring process.
• Assist in the care of patients under supervision of licensed staff and perform routine tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in alignment with residents' needs and under supervision.
• Deliver water, assist residents, answer call lights, help with bed making and transfers.
• Take residents to activities and meals; maintain clean patient environments.
• Maintain supplies and equipment inventory; report changes to the charge nurse.
• Notify supervisor of changes in patient conditions promptly; log repairs as needed.

Caregiver Position Overview:

Assist in the care of patients under the supervision of licensed staff and assist the CertifiedNursing assistants and the professional nursing staff by performing routine or less-skilled tasksin the care of patients and environment.

Essential Functions – Caregiver:

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents served.
• Deliver water, pitchers and ice to resident rooms, answer call lights, assist in getting the correct person to help the resident, and make beds.
• Take residents to activities and to meals.
• Keep patients' environment clean, such as beds, bedside stands, and wardrobe closets.
• Keep service areas clean and equipped, including utility rooms.
• Ensure proper inventory of supplies and operational equipment.
• Notify charge nurse of any change in patients’ condition on a timely basis.
• Report any equipment in need of repair to the supervisor and in the Maintenance Log.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

• Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant suchaction.
• Aptitude to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors,government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
