Job summary

Avamere at Sandy is seeking a part-time/on-call caregiver to support residents in daily living activities and emotional well-being. You will assist with ADLs, provide companionship, and help maintain a clean, safe environment for residents in a memory care/assisted living setting.

The role requires CPR/First Aid certification eligibility, ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card, and experience with electronic medical records. Flexible weekend availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in Memory Care Unit and/or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have ability to obtain/maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Perform housekeeping tasks including laundry, cleaning, and tidying resident areas.
• Monitor health and vital signs; report concerns to medical staff as needed.
• Answer resident calls for assistance promptly and maintain a safe environment.

Type: Part-Time/On-Call (PRN)

Shift/Schedule: On-Call, All shifts available, Weekend availability needed

Wage: $18.58-$24.24/hr DOE

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older
