Job summary

Nurse Next Door in Garden Valley, CA is hiring caregivers to provide in‑home care to seniors with memory challenges. The role offers part‑time hours with weekday and weekend options, paid training, and growth opportunities. You will work close to home with PPE provided and 1.5x overtime pay available. Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• 1 year caregiving experience preferred.
• Criminal background check required.
• Tb test shows no active TB.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• HCA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal hygiene including bathing and grooming.
• Help clients with transfers, positioning and mobility.
• Assist with exercises as needed for client well‑being.
• Plan meals and assist with eating.
• Assist with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Provide companionship and light household tasks.
• Administer medication reminders and document care.
• Report changes in client condition to supervisor.
• Complete service records and attend required trainings.

Compensation: $19-$21/hour

Responsibilities & Duties

• Assisting clients with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing;
• Assisting clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning and assisting with ambulation;
• Assisting with exercises as appropriate to meet the client’s needs;
• Meal planning and preparation, and assisting clients with eating;
• Assisting clients to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans or urinals and incontinence care;
• Companionship & performing household services including light housekeeping, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries;
• Assisting clients with medications which are ordinarily self-administered;
• Reporting changes in the client’s condition and needs to the administrator; and
• Completing records regarding services performed.
• Participating in all required entry-level and annual training requirements.
• Maintaining an active home care aide registration with the State of Ca. Dept. of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.

• 1 Year Caregiving Experience (preferred)
• Completion of a criminal background check
• Evidence of tuberculosis testing and verification that the caregiver does not have active tuberculosis.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance and/or reliable transportation.
• HCA (Preferred)
