Job summary

Hireology is seeking a caregiver to provide routine daily care for residents in a long-term care setting. You will assist with daily routines, personal care, and housekeeping under the Wellness Director's guidance.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and ability to communicate in English. Experience in healthcare and elderly care is preferred. Must be able to work independently and support multiple residents when needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience working in healthcare.
• Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
• Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
• Must be able to work on own caring for multiple residents if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents in daily routines, personal care, and housekeeping tasks.
• Reports observations and care-related information.
• Provides services that support daily care and reviews care plans for changes.
• Contributes to formulation and evaluation of care standards.
• Identifies staff educational needs.
• Maintains professional conduct per facility policies.
• Surveys for safety and tidies resident rooms; changes linens weekly or as needed.
• Assists with Activity Participation and documents participation.
• Ensures resident pendant pages are answered promptly.
• Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning areas.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident care information.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Wellness Director or Executive Director.

Summary of Responsibility:
Provides routine daily care and services that support the care delivered to residents
requiring long-term care, in accordance with the established nursing care
procedures and as directed by the Wellness Director.

Duties:

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.
4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.
7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident’s room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.
8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.
9. Ensures that all resident pendant pages are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by Wellness Director or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience:

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
