Role Description

The Caregiver role at EmmUcare Home Health is a full-time, on-site position based in Williamsport, PA. Caregivers provide direct support to clients in their homes, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Day-to-day responsibilities include light housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, and helping clients follow medication reminder schedules as directed. Caregivers offer companionship by engaging clients in conversation, recreational activities, and emotional support, while observing and reporting any changes in client condition to supervisors. The role also involves following care plans, maintaining accurate documentation of services delivered, and upholding safety, hygiene, and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide personal care and support with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility assistance).
• Skills in light housekeeping and home management, including laundry, basic cleaning, and maintaining a safe, organized environment.
• Competence in meal planning and preparation, encouraging healthy eating habits and assisting with feeding when needed.
• Capability to offer companionship and emotional support, including active listening, conversation, and engaging clients in social or leisure activities.
• Reliability in providing medication reminders as directed, and documenting services accurately according to care plans and company guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to diverse clients and families.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and respond appropriately to changes in client needs or emergency situations.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or in a similar role is beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally to client homes in the Williamsport, PA area, as required.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the role (such as standing, walking, and safely assisting with transfers) and pass any required background checks.
