Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team at ComforCare Portland South. As a Caregiver, you will provide assistance with daily living activities, personal care tasks, household and supportive services, and medication services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, nail care, and oral hygiene
- Assist with ambulation, transfers, range of motion exercises, safe use of equipment and assistive devices, and changing of position
- Provide assistance with toileting, use of bedpan, commode, or urinal, and incontinent care
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and assistance with feeding
- Provide emotional support and motivation through conversation, encouragement, and recreational activities
- Maintain accurate records and reports any abnormalities in client condition
- Present and conduct yourself in a professional manner according to agency policy and the ComForCare Caregiver Job Description
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a current driver's license, proof of vehicle registration, and valid insurance
- Must have the ability to accurately follow and process written and verbal instructions
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and interact with clients, client representatives, family members, caregivers, and administrative staff
- Must adhere to Agency policy and procedures at all times
Certification Requirements:
- Certified caregivers will be required to present copies of their current certification for inclusion in their personnel file
- Caregivers providing Medication Services to a client are required to complete 5 IPCED courses designed to provide detailed information and instruction
- A one-hour in-service of medication education will be required annually to continue providing medication services to our clients
