Job summary

Nightingale Respite Care is seeking a Caregiver to join our team and provide quality non-medical homecare to our veteran population. This role offers flexibility with shifts Sunday through Saturday and both part-time and full-time hours based on client needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• 1 year caregiver experience.
• Valid driver’s license/state ID and reliable daily transportation.
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
• Adequate physical endurance.

Responsibilities

• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Perform housekeeping and light chores as needed.
• Assist with transfers and ambulation using cane, walker, wheelchair, or Hoyer Lift (client dependent).
• Assist with bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Plan, prepare and serve meals with client input.
• Assist with toileting including use of bedpan or toilet.
• Report unusual events to the administrator.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Complete other duties per the Client Service Plan.

Duties and Responsibilities May Include (depending on Client Service Plan):

• Offering companionship and emotional support
• Housekeeping

• Plan, prepare and serve meals, with assistance from the clients (when they are able)

• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Completes all other duties within the Client Service Plan
