Job summary

Senior Solutions Management Group is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily care and services for residents in long-term or rehabilitative settings, under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA certification or in training, CPR/First Aid, and English proficiency. Experience with the elderly is desirable; training and support are provided as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
  • CNA certification or enrollment in a CNA program preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid training certified.
  • Experience with elderly residents is desirable.
  • Proficient reading, speaking and writing in English.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily routines, personal care and housekeeping tasks.
  • Report observations and pertinent information to the supervisor.
  • Support care plans and review for changes in daily care routines.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of care standards.
  • Identify staff educational needs and participate in training.
  • Maintain professional conduct per unit policies.
  • Promote safety, tidy rooms, and proper linen management weekly.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities and document participation.
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests.
  • Assist with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning the area.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Shift: 6PM-6AM and 6AM-6PM

Summary of Responsibility

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor.

Duties
  1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
  2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
  3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.
  4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
  5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
  6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.
  7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident’s room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.
  8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.
  9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
  10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.
  11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.
Education and Experience
  1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
  2. Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
  3. Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
  4. Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
  5. Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
  6. Must be certified in C.P.R., first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.
