Job summary

Executive Home Care of South Tampa is seeking a dedicated Home Health Aide to provide in-home personal care to clients in the Tampa area. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist, following the plan of care and ensuring safety and confidentiality.

Ideal candidates hold HHA certification or CNA license, CPR or BLS, reliable transportation, and complete required training. Flexible schedule and advancement opportunities are highlighted in the Benefits package.

Qualifications

• HHA certification or CNA license required.
• CPR or BLS certification required.
• Reliable transportation to travel to clients’ homes required.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 75 hours of classroom and practical training with 16 hours of supervised practical training completed.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect personal care to the client in the home setting under the direction of a registered nurse or therapist.
• Utilizes safety measures in the provision of care.
• Maintains effective communication with supervisor regarding client’s condition.
• Documents and submits accurate accounts of services provided.
• Observe the client for changes in condition and behavior and report to the supervisor.
• Maintains confidentiality of all client, agency, and employee matters.
• Adheres to all Agency policies.
• Recognize emergencies and demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Adheres to the role of the Home Health Aide in the home setting as defined in state regulation.

• Successful completion of at least 75 hours of classroom and practical training with 16 hours of supervised practical training.
• Must demonstrate a satisfactory level of competency evidenced by evaluation.
• Adequate health status to perform described duties.
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate with clients and staff.
• Must meet personnel qualifications.

The home health aide or CNA shall not change sterile dressings, irrigate body cavities such as giving an enema, irrigate a colostomy or wound, perform gastric irrigation or enteral feeding, catheterize a client, administer medication, apply heat by any method, care for a tracheotomy tube, nor provide any personal health service which has not been included in the plan of care.
